March 2007
Officer's Meeting Minutes
Highlights of the meeting, held at Travelin Dave's house:
[Originally, it was to be at Mike Lamb's house. In the future, we should make an
effort to call the officers (not just email) if we change the location at the
last minute. But anyway....]
Treasury: Currently $2018.67
We have 60 members paid up for 2007.
The Celtic Festival will be held on May 12th. So far we have not committed to a
FOAM demonstration at the Celtic Festival. We should bring up this topic at the
April FOAM meeting. We should talk to David Pugh about this one way or the
other. One thing to consider: If we brew there, will we have access to running
water?
Also on May 12th is the Spirit of Free Beer Homebrew Competition held at Old
Dominion.
Also on May 12th is the DC101 Chili Cookoff in Washington DC
Maryland Spring Beer Festival will be held at the Frederick Fairgrounds on
Saturday May 19th (a week after the Celtic festival!)
This wasn't mentioned, but I believe the Schifferstadt Fruhlingfest will be held
on Saturday, April 28th.
We need to plan ahead for the summer FOAM meetings outside the Flying Barrel.
Currently the plan is to have the FOAM Pool Party at Travelin' Dave's on
Bastille Day, July 14th.
And to have the August meeting on the 6th, hopefully at Wild Goose Brewery,
where we will also have the FOAM cup for German Wheat Beers.
Jason Lamb gave us the following Guild News:
Next Guild Meeting will be at Clipper City Brewing at 6:30 PM on May 14th.
Remember that April 7th is the Anniversary of the Repeal of Prohibition
There will be BJCP classes on May 13th.
In mid-April there will be a raffle of a 12.2 gallon fermenter, 200 tickets will
be sold at $10 per ticket, winner gets to choose the charity to which the
profits will be donated.
BIGBREW brewing party is May 5th at Maryland Homebrew in Columbia. Sponsored by
CRABS, CSI and MALT.
The Guild Picnic is June 9th at Patapsco State Park at the Glen Artney Shelter.
September 22 is the Crab Feast at the Goddard Rec Center. Tickets will be
something like $20 - $35.
