Here is a summary of the FOAM meeting from Monday, May 7:

-Thanks to Jim & Les for the chili at the FOAM meeting!

-This was a test run for the FOAM entry in the DC Chili cookoff, which will happen this Saturday, May 12th. Tickets for the DC Chili cookoff are $30 in advance, $45 at the door. There will be bands
playing from 11 AM til 8 PM.

FOAM members will be leaving Frederick at 6:15 AM for the cookoff.  Donations will benefit the Kidney Foundation.

Saturday will be a busy day. There is also the Celtic Festival in Urbana and the Maryland Brewers Spring Fest at the Harry Grove Stadium from 12- 8 PM.

Next FOAM Officers meeting is MONDAY May 14th at Edgar's house in Middletown.

Thursday May 17th is the FOAM Happy Hour which will be at the Old Town Tavern on Market Street in downtown Frederick.

June 9th is the Free State Guild Picnic at Patapsco State Park near Elkridge.  There will be a wheat beer competition. Bring beer & a side dish.  More info will be posted here: http://www.mdhomebrewers.org/.

June 22-23 is the National Homebrew Competition

Saturday, July 14th is the FOAM pool party at Travelin' Dave's house in Middletown. Bring Beer & a side dish.

September 14th is the Great Frederick Fair. Calvin has been organizing this, and will do so again, but other people are welcome to help/take over for him.

The next FOAM cup competition will be held in August, and the category is wheat beers.

Michael Kozar has a FREE beer refrigerator to offer.

Tonight's FOAM cup category was Vienna Lager/Marzen/Oktoberfest.  Winners were:

3rd place: Mike Lamb & Edgar Radonich
2nd place: Keith Hipsley
1st place: Dave Justice
