Here is a summary of the FOAM Officer's Meeting held Tuesday August 14th at Travelin' Dave's house (out by the pool):

Treasury = $1994.67

We have 72 members, three new ones signed up at the July meeting at the Wild Goose Brewery. One of them made his membership fee back with a profit when he won the half&half!

BURP Mashout is this weekend, August 18 & 19.

Saturday September 8th will be the Wild Goose Brewery Flock Party, celebrating the one year anniversary since Flying Dog merged with them. No word yet as to whether they need volunteers for this. Here is the website: http://www.wildgoosebrewery.com/flockparty/.

Again, September 8th is the date to submit entries for The Great Frederick Fair. We will have access to a cold room at the fair for storing the beers until they are judged on Sunday, September 9th. Results will be announced at the FOAM Meeting on September 10th.

Note that the FOAM meeting will NOT be held on Labor Day Monday (3rd), but will be held on the following Monday (10th) at the Flying Barrel.

Since Buck will soon be giving homebrewing classes on Mondays as well as Thursdays, Calvin will talk to Bob as to whether these classes will conflict with our FOAM meetings.

Sarah Anderson will be hosting FOAMSTOCK in Mt. Pleasant on Sep 22 & 23, she will submit directions & details soon which will be posted on the website and/or next newsletter.

September 29 & 30 will be the Frederick Oktoberfest held at the Frederick Fairgrounds. They will need volunteers to help pour beer. This should be brought up at the next FOAM meeting on September 10th.

October 20 & 21 is the other Oktoberfest, held at Schifferstadt. FOAM will set up there as usual & do a brewing demo. I (Terry) would be willing to brew there for one of those days. But I still have almost half of the batch of Christmas spiced brown ale from last year (which I will bring to the FOAM Christmas party), so I'm open to suggestions/recipes for a different style to brew this time.


Next FOAM Cup will be at the November FOAM meeting, and the style will be Belgian Strong Ale.

The winner of the 2007 FOAM Brewer will be awarded a $50 Flying Barrel Gift Certificate.

August Happy Hour will be held this Thursday at Brewer's Alley (Lobster Night!)

September FOAM Officers Meeting will be held at Travelin' Dave's house on Tuesday September 18th.

September FOAM Happy Hour will be held at Barley & Hops on Thursday, September 20th.
